Our Family Trip To The Sewer

Clark Griswold would definitely be in his element in today's vacation choices. The lovable loser of a dad from Vacation, who would drive 100 miles out of the way to see a house of mud, would without a doubt want to see the inside of the cities' sewer system.
With many families struggling with layoffs, high gas prices, and the erosion of their 401Ks, local quick trips are replacing the costly theme park or island destinations. Many of these local gems may seem a little offbeat but could provide an enjoyable day.
I actually love the idea, these short trips work better for our attention deficit society and are many times more educational than standing in line for two hours in 90 degree heat for a five minute ride at a crowded overpriced theme park.
So before you take out a second mortgage to take your family to Wally World, check to see if your local prison is offering tours that day.
Happy Traveling,
Steve
