Next Round - New Directions
January 27th 2007 03:08
Taking stock of where we are and what we are doing - is always a necessary part of life. The new year is traditionally the time for this. While the grapes are fresh on the vine, we look about us with a certain elan. We are fired by the possibilies of a future untrammelled by disaster or past mistakes. That is the theory of it anyway.
What we do learn is the importance of persistence. But it is not enough to just try, try and try again. It is also important to develop new initiatives, new approaches, new tools of promotion and new campaigns for new seasons.
For myself, I will continue to look for a producer to help realise one or more of the projects I write as I progress. I will also look for other opportunities to freshen insights and add to my toolbox of skills and knowledge.
At University I will be completing my Master of Film Studies. This will give me a wider network of contacts to work with and hopefully a source of ideas on how I can improve my chances. Who knows what this year will bring?
Fortune favours the brave. Life is a ruin for the faint hearted. Onwards the revolution.
