Mandarin
Alexander Brand is the leader of a group of remarkable people. Over the years they have developed a quantum leap in IT Technology. Everybody wants it, but nobody wants to pay for it. They would prefer to steal it or obtain it by starving him, getting him to accept a bargain basement compensation. Even his investors are combining to put pressure on him to lower the price and get in on the market. Then a small glimmer of opportunity presents itself in the shape of Chinese entrepreneurs in Hong Kong and Beijing. They combine with the Chinese government to give him a financial launch platform. Alex grew up in Hong Kong and it is through his friends Stephen Vincent Ho and Grace Huang that is has all become possible. What none of them realise is that someone is stalking Alex. An attempt will be made to ensure that he never gets the project off the ground. Guns, bombs and mayhem are just part of the drama that evolves as Alex and his associates strive to bring off a major coup. The hope to reshape the whole of IT infrastructure and the way the world communicates both internally and with other businesses. It isn't just a matter of life and death -- this is much more important than that.

If You're So Funny -- Why Aren't We Rich?
Chris Birney is the son and minder of his aged mother, Daisy. She is both an eccentric and erratic hook around which part of his life revolves. Each day he leaves her to go to the office as an artist agent. There he shares his chaotic approach to life with Maria Mangiano his office manager, genral factotum and house mother and Sean Finn, an out of work actor and friend. He and Maria share an idealised relationship based on trust and love. It is fiercely platonic however. This is because Maria is happily married and because both of them realise that their relationship would not survive the abrasive demands of becoming lovers. Into this stable day-to-day existence now come a number of disturbances. The first results from the demands of the business. A competitor has closed his agency and Chris and Maria manage to capture most of that business. This is fortunate as the agency has recently suffered from a down-turn on the local scene. Then Craig Bushmill enters the scene. He is a young writer looking for help.

Persistence of Vision
Laura Pedersen has paid a high price for what she believes in. Orphaned at nine years of age she is a surgeon, travelling the world over looking after those who have been damaged and destroyed by conflict. Her friend Claire Dean has supported her in many of her adventures. Recovering from a difficult time after losing her husband, Laura once more follows her star. This time to Bosnia. What she doesn't realise how difficult this journey will be. It isn't just fighting bureaucracys, lack of funds and the daily threat of violence. This time she will once more be brought to question her choice of direction.

Turn Left at Thursday
Mark Corday has written a best selling novel on terrorist attacks on the US, set in the near future. On travelling to the States he finds that the events he has fabricated are based on situations which in fact exist. The novel attracts a lot of interest, makes it to the New York Best Seller List and exposes him to scrutiny by the American intelligence community, organised crime and the terrorists themselves. The question is: Can he stay ahead of assassination attempts before the full ramifications of his revelations are revealed?

The Weathermen
In the not too distant future, extreme weather patterns are affecting the world. In Europe freak floods and rain have devastated the continent for some time. In Britain it is difficult to operate normal daily activity. Chaos is taking hold. Craig Ruby, with his wife Melissa head up the team that is developing the technology for the Weatherman satellites. We follow their journey as they deal with their day-to-day existence. Then in the middle of everything, Melissa is killed in a random act of violence. Now Craig must cope with the raising of their son alone.

Matters of SubstanceThe life and adventures of HARRY ELLIOTT a rat-bag artist who lives at the Cross. The action is set in and around Sydney, with certain hi jinks going on. Harry sponsors lost causes and takes in lame ducks, while getting involved with a young woman. In the background violence comes from political corruption, organised crime and an attempt to import a huge quantity of heroin into Australia (Note: This is a trilogy.)

TV: http://www.eccentrix.com/members/johnhalllast/projecttv.htm

White Man's Burden [Film or TV]
Does reconciliation have any real meaning or is it as dead as a bandicoot on a freeway on Friday night after the pub closes? MICHAEL KAVANAGH a successful white lawyer, agrees to take the top position of a new organisation dealing with conflicts over native title. He meets the Koori negotiating team headed by TOM GARLAND and his chief negotiator, LIV KELLY. Michael and Liv start very warily with one another. Before too long however, there is banter going on between them, which leads to a level of involvement neither of them could anticipate. What happens between them is both unexpected and unavoidable.

The Uninvited Guest [Film or TV]
A modern day ghost story. DAVID DAINTRY lives alone, thinks of himself as a combination of Sensitive New Age Guy and adventurous thinker. Truth is, he is a tad stuffy and in need of a bit of fresh air. His attitude to women can be condescending and his romantic successes are more in his mind than in reality

Voyage to Joseyn [Film or TV]
Following a cataclysmic dark age comes a time of superstition and fear of science. Science is unholy -- spoken of as a curse and blamed for all man's misfortunes -- past and present. The world's population has been decimated. There are many legends as to the cause -- but science is always blamed. In the time of darkness, the hand of God moved over the Earth. Great cities trembled and were no more. After the Great Burning, mankind was scattered on the face of the Earth. Great engines carried the seeds of power through the air to purge the pride of man. In fear and misery he cursed the magic and the madness of science. He cursed it as a false god and vilified it. The Earth itself melted and burned with dark fire. Brother turned on brother. Towns and villages were destroyed. JORDA Y'VILLE, is summoned home to CHILLA, a mountain stronghold living from profits from steel manufactured within its mill. There are rumours that an attempt will be made to damage the mill.

View from the Shadows [Stage or Film]
KATHERINE LOUISE MAYO was a key figure in medical research, revolutionary and controversial. JAMES FISHER is fascinated with the person that lay behind the legend. What caused her to withdraw from public life? He develops an obsession, investigating her background, reading everything he can that has been written about her. He is determined to write her definitive biography.

He comes now to the vineyard where she spent her latter years . He meets JOANNA FURTH. Joanna was more than the sister of Katherine's last husband. She was her close friend, her confidant and guardian of the legacy she left. Fisher talks to Joanna. He is rather a colourless person. At first Joanna appears co-operative. She describes her first meeting with Katherine at the time when her brother was killed in a car accident. Through her eyes we re-visit the memory and follow the first faltering steps towards friendship.
