Beyond This Horizon - Beyond This Horizon

Concerto in Spring

November 12th 2006 07:09
The chime of windsong wandered in her mind
It was early she thought and then remembered it was Spring
Recalling that soon he would be returning calling to her
Worn from his travels and the tribulation that life doth bring.

She knew that eternity together would be too short a time
For them to celebrate a life of love and yearning side by side
Turning she let her gaze wander down the path where he would come
Anticipating the quickening of her heart the smile open wide
Stretching her face her body open to the rushing warmth within.

Musing to herself she thought how neither of them could hide

Shared between them daily unstoppable drowning them
The fountain of feeling, raw love which leaped like an eternal wide
Growing tumultuous stream a bond that wound around over and through
Catching them both within its warm fairy web embedded and alive.

Within the house two small voices raised in child like war the heat
Of the moment shrill and focussed on their tiny universe of light
Reminded her of the small budding life that grew unaware
Within her suckled by the warmth and clear tender loving might
Which surrounded them all and lifted them daily in a crystal womb.

For an instant, doubt entered into her world and she stopped
Just for a moment to ponder what had caused her fear
To wander in to make her leave her sanctuary for the world
Where hunger death and life’s destruction could reach and tear
Her and leave her prey to hidden terrors even the cold night of death.

Shaking off this brief breathing enemy of her domain
She turned to the comfort of the those things familiar on every side
While inside the sounds of battle diminished – the reason

For the conflict resolved and the combatants accepting the tide
Ebbing of their ire and her heart leapt for in the distance,
She heard his step. 19/9/00

John,

Well done, nice to see you. It was moving poetry, but I'm not sure you got the female psyche quite right.

Hi Katy

As far as the female psyche is concerned:

1 Is there only one generic which includes all females? I would hope my portrait would be on target for at least one and possible a number of femmes/ladies/
women/girls/gorgeous creatures who I truly adore.

2 Psyche originally was a goddess of the moon - also Cybele and other other incarnations - with changeable moods and tempers to match.

So I agree with your willingness to dispute over my depiction of the female mood and mind, but would ask you to consider that it is possible that I got it right for SOME women, perhaps.

Cheers

John,

I did say QUITE right that does infer you got it right to a considerable degree. Read the language as it is written

Hi Katyzzz

I know you did -- and I was trying to be tongue in cheek, obviously not QUITE on the money.

I would restate my point though. How we write, how we read -- all are subject to interpretation.

What I was saying was that you have your point of view, which I accept, but I also have the right (again tongue in cheek) to smile and say that I quibble with your quibble. With a nod and a wink and say no more - unless with a grin and your own spin on what you say and what you think.

Of course this could be nothing else than both of us having the last word, in which case we may have an infinite progression -- The War and Peace of Blogs.

Cheers

JohnH
